New Tecumseth Public Library has just launched TAG (Teen Advisory Group) to help us make our libraries more teen friendly. TAG is a group of 13-18 year olds representing all three communities of New Tecumseth (Alliston, Beeton & Tottenham), who will meet to advise the library on what can be done to draw teens back into the library. Facilitated by staff members, TAG will allow the youth in the community to have their say on things like the type of books we should adding to the YA collection, programs and events we could run that would attract teens, and then help us in implementing their suggestions, and raising funds to put towards these endeavors.
This is a great way for teens to earn their volunteer hours, as well.

TAG meets once a month for planning and brainstorming, and then as needed for implementing our ideas. We've had a great autumn season and have a number of events planned for the Winter and Spring - watch below for more details! Please click here for the TAG meeting schedule We will be rotating meeting nights to better accommodate all of our members. |

The TAG meeting for January 27th postponed to February 10, 2012. Planning meeting will be held at 5 pm at the Pam Kirkpatrick Branch in Tottenham and will run about two hours. Light refreshment will be included.

The Hunger Games event was a great success and everyone had a wonderful time! Two pairs of tickets to Cineplex Odeon were awarded to winners of various events & challenges. Thank you to Cineplex for your generous donation of these tickets! Anyone with pictures from the event can submit them to tag@ntpl.ca to be posted in a photo gallery. |
