| The Tecumseth and West Gwillimbury Historical Society was formed in 1978 to promote public interest in and understanding of the history of Tecumseth and West Gwillimbury Townships in Simcoe County and to work for the preservation of their rich and varied heritage. To accomplish these aims we have researched community histories, plaqued historic sites and published books and audio-visual material on local history. Regular meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of every month, from September to November and from January to May at the Women's Institute Hall in Newton Robinson, at 7:30 pm. These meetings are open to visitors and members alike. Guest speakers, local historians and collectors provide varied and enjoyable programs followed by a social hour. |
